Wine and Dine Thirst and Vine is Shorewood’s neighborhood wine bar, bistro and retail shop. We’re conveniently located just north of East Capitol at 4330 North Oakland in Shorewood. Our bistro café has a very talented staff and knowledgeable bartenders. You'll find that your wine intellect will expand with every visit. We're open Tuesday through Sunday with live music Tuesday thru Saturday. |

Retail Prices and Corkage We have a unique approach to wine sales. Most restaurants have a 300% mark up on a bottle of wine, whereas Thirst and Vine sells all wine at a retail price with a small corkage fee of $5.00 when you enjoy a bottle in-house. If you come in on Tuesday or Sunday, the corkage fee is completely waived! Every Sunday, you can check out the bottles of wine that we have open and enjoy a glass for half of the original price.

Winemaker's Dinners Thirst and Vine is frequently visited by some of the best known wine owners and winemakers in the country and even abroad. We keep a regular schedule of events to help show off and enjoy these wine experts whenever they come to town. If you check out our schedule, we'll usually have a dinner planned around their arrival and you can be sure that the days will be filled with plenty of fine food and of course, lots of great wines. Learn About Wine Owner John Nehring has been traveling the world for the past 30 plus years, visiting a wide array of vineyards and wine producing experts and along the way has become an expert in his own right. He can usually be found hanging out with many of his wine loving friends here at the 'Vine' and is always available to to share his knowledge and discuss the many intricate aspects involved when seeking that 'Perfect' wine for the moment. |
Wine Tastings We have regularly scheduled wine tastings as a way of giving you the opportunity to sample the wines before purchasing. There are always great deals to be had and there are usually generous discounts applied when purchasing in case amounts. You can also taste through our large beer selection or have a mixed drink from our full bar. |
Special Occasions Our facility is equipped to handle parties of various sizes. From wedding rehearsal dinners to corporate gatherings and birthdays, we are here to turnkey the day/evening. Our kitchen can cook up almost anything your group desires. We also have a catering company just in case your friends have extremely huge appetites. Again, just contact Anne or Andrew for details. |
